At Jacobs Ladder Child Care Center, we don't just watch children grow. We create the conditions for curiosity, confidence, and character to take root — so your child arrives at kindergarten ready to lead.
When you drop your child off at Jacobs Ladder, they aren't just another face in a crowd. They're a person we know by name, whose interests we notice, and whose growth we celebrate — every single day.
Our center has been a trusted part of the Tallahassee community for over 15 years. We blend a warm, home-like atmosphere with a structured early learning curriculum that prepares children for the academic and social demands of school.
Rooted in faith and guided by patience, our approach honors the whole child — their mind, their emotions, and their spirit. We believe the earliest years are not a waiting period before real learning begins. They are the real learning.
From their first steps to their first day of kindergarten, we meet children exactly where they are and help them climb higher.
Ages 6 weeks – 12 months
Gentle, responsive care for the most vulnerable learners. Our infant program focuses on secure attachment, sensory exploration, and building the foundation of trust that every child needs.
Ages 1 – 2 years
Toddlers are scientists — they touch, taste, climb, and question everything. Our toddler room is a safe space for big discoveries, with hands-on activities that build language, motor skills, and independence.
Ages 3 – 4 years
Preschoolers are ready to dive deeper. Our curriculum introduces early literacy, numeracy, and creative expression through thematic units, group projects, and guided discovery — all while children are having fun.
Ages 4 – 5 years
The final step before kindergarten — and we take it seriously. Our Pre-K program builds academic readiness, self-regulation, and social confidence so your child walks into their first classroom already feeling like a success.
We don't see early education as babysitting with a curriculum. We see it as the most important investment a family can make — because the first five years shape the person your child becomes.
Every activity in our rooms is intentional. Whether children are building with blocks, painting, or playing pretend, they're developing the cognitive, social, and emotional skills that form the backbone of future success.
We integrate values like kindness, honesty, and gratitude into daily routines — not as separate lessons, but as the culture our community lives by. We welcome families of all backgrounds and faith traditions.
You're your child's first teacher — and our most important partner. We keep the lines of communication open with daily updates, regular conferences, and an open-door policy that welcomes your questions and input.
"When we first walked in, we could tell this was different. The teachers genuinely cared, the space was clean and bright, and our son was greeted by name on day one. We felt something we hadn't felt at other centers — peace of mind."
"My daughter started in the infant program and just moved up to Pre-K. Watching her grow from a shy baby into a confident little girl who can't wait to go to 'school' every morning — that's the Jacobs Ladder difference."
"As a working mom, I need a childcare center I can trust completely. Jacobs Ladder gives me that — and then some. The daily updates, the transparency, the love they show my son — I can't recommend them enough to other parents."
